Ellin Pollachek on Flora & Fauna
Most commonly thought of as the division between the plant and the animal world, Flora and Fauna are seen with more significance in Roman mythology. Flora is the Goddess of the flower, bringing forth springtime and all vegetation while Fauna is the Goddess of earth and fertility. The images in this collection reflect upon those two Goddesses. Death is represented by the Roman God Pluto.
